The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) celebrated the inauguration of its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and Sustainability Center.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Salah Al Zadjali, Director General of Research Programs and Capacity Building, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to fostering innovation by supporting higher education institutions in establishing dedicated centers.

These centers will provide crucial services such as business incubation, acceleration programs, intellectual property guidance, and technology transfer and localization. Ultimately, they aim to empower students and entrepreneurs to launch successful startups and contribute to the national economy.

Dr. Musa bin Abdullah Al Kindi, Dean of MCBS, highlighted the college’s ongoing efforts to develop and expand the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center’s services and facilities. These features include business incubation and acceleration programs designed for both students and external beneficiaries.

The newly established Sustainability Center reflects MCBS’s commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This center will organize awareness and education programs on environmental sustainability, coordinate and promote research initiatives focused on sustainability, and encourage community participation in sustainability efforts.

The inauguration event concluded with a tour of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and the Sustainability Center led by H.E. Dr. Al Mahrouqi.
