Mr. Ravinder Bhan, a renowned international thought leader, mentor, and entrepreneur who possesses 30 years of industry experience and exposure spread across Asia, Middle East, and North America led the Open House. He was introduced by Mr. Raihan Taqui Syed, the Director of CEBI. The Open House was attended by over 130 participants that comprised of both college students and faculty members and professionals from more than 10 organizations who were keen to understand the fundamentals of Entrepreneurship.
The Open House was an interactive session where Mr. Bhan grouped the participants into six groups each with an assigned leader. Their task was to develop a business idea, using his ten guiding questions to assist them along the way. He was also available to clarify any questions and assist the participants. After the allotted time was completed, each assigned leader presented their idea with Mr. Bhan providing his own inputs on how to improve this idea further.
Mr. Bhan emphasized on the fact that the process of creating sustainable entrepreneurs does not end with an open house but is a continuous process of hand holding and mentorship that involves intense analysis of the product idea, the market, and resources required for the same. To address this, CEBI has developed a comprehensive program called, “Entrepreneurial Take Off” (ETO) for all students, graduates and professionals based in Oman. This includes a 3-day workshop for aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs where actual projects will be developed. Following the workshop, selected projects would be incubated at the incubation center for up to a period of six months to establish their businesses. Mr. Raihan signed off by sharing “[t]his is supported by MCBS as its commitment to create effective employers among the youth in Oman”.
