Deploying IoT against COVID 19 spreading

Nebojsa Bacanin received his Ph.D. degrees from Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade   in 2015 (study program Computer Science, average grade 10,00) and from Faculty of Business Studies, Megatrend University in 2014 (study program Economics/Computer Science, average grade: 9,33). He started University career in Serbia 13 years ago. He was the vice-dean of the Graduate School of Computer Science at Megatrend University. He currently works as an associate professor at Singidunum Univeristy and as a vice-dean at Faculty of Informatics and Computing, Singidunum University.

At the Megatrend University, Nebojsa Bacanin have been actively participating in establishing and accrediting a completely new Faculty with bachelor, master and Ph.D. programs from Computer Science domain (field: natural sciences).  With 13 years of teaching experience, he is relatively experienced teacher. Students were always very pleased with his teaching methods and he was teaching more than 20 different undergraduate and post-graduate (master and PhD) courses from Computer Science in Serbia, in Serbian, as well as in English language. At Singidunum Universiy, for academic 2018/19 year, he was ranked as the best professor by the students and the management among competition of 350 professors.

Nebojsa Bacanin is involved in scientific research in the field of computer science and his specialty include stochastic optimization algorithms, swarm intelligence, soft-computing and optimization and modeling, as well as artificial intelligence, machine learning, image processing and cloud and distributed computing. He has published around 100 scientific papers in high quality journals and international conferences indexed in Clarivate Analytics JCR, Scopus, WoS, IEEExplore, and other scientific databases, as well as in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science and Procedia Computer Science book chapters.

He has also published 2 books in domains of Cloud Computing and Advanced Java Spring Programming. He is currently a mentor for one Ph.D. thesis in Serbia that is related to his areas of expertise. He was also a mentor for four master theses in Serbia.

He is a member of numerous editorial boards, scientific and advisory committees of international conferences and journals.  He is a regular reviewer of papers for international journals with high Clarivate Analytics and WoS impact factor such as Soft Computing, Applied Soft Computing, Information Sciences, Journal of Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Review, Swarm and Evolutionary Computation, Journal of King Saud University ¨C Computer and Information Sciences, SoftwareX, Neurocomputing, Operations Research Perspectives, etc.

He obtains high level of practical computer science skills and experience from various domains: operating systems, computer networks, programming languages, databases, hardware, cloud computing, etc. He is a holder of more than 30 industrial certificates from global IT vendors: Microsoft, CompTIA, HP, Oracle and LPI.  Some of his computer science skills include: Java advanced programming, Spring and Spring Boot, Java RESTful Web services, C# programming, C++ programming, Python for Machine Learning and Data Science, HTML, CSS, JavaScript client-side technologies, JSP, ASP.NET, PHP backend technologies, Databases, Oracle and ANSI SQL, Windows clients, Windows Server and Linux operating Systems, Computer Networks, Microsoft Office Suite, Amazon AWS, computer hardware, etc.
