Presently the Head of the Department of General education, Dr. Aarati holds a Ph.D. and an M. Phil. degree in English Language Teaching from M.S. University of Baroda, India. Both dissertations are psycholinguistic, exploring the cognitive processes of writing L2 compositions. Her total teaching experience spans more than 28 years, teaching English globally at the Doctoral, Masters and the Undergraduate levels.
Teaching at MCBS since 2014, she teaches Academic Writing, Business Writing, Technical Writing and World Literature. She is a recognised Supervisor to supervise doctoral dissertations and has guided two students towards their Ph. D degrees.
Her recent book Teaching ‘English as Second Language: Theory and Praxis’ published by Sage International, is being used as a text book and a reference book in most of the Indian and in some foreign universities. She has co-authored books on Business Communication and English for Academic Purposes.
She researches extensively and has presented her research on numerous international platforms. Her 17 Research Papers are published in reputed globally indexed journals. Her areas of research and professional interest are developing Critical Thinking, Teaching Methodologies, and Classroom Research. She loves gardening, travelling, listening to music and playing games like cricket, tennis, and table-tennis.
