MCBS Celebrated Its 25th Commencement Ceremony of 340 Students

The Modern College of Business and Science celebrated its 25th Commencement Ceremony of 340 students. This ceremony saw the graduation of the biggest batch that has graduated from the Modern College of Business and Science yet.

The ceremony was held at Al Shafaq Club under the patronage of The Honorable Salaam bin Saeed Al Shaqsi, member of the State Council and chief executive officer of Al Izz Islamic Bank; Prof. David Decker, President of Franklin University; Dr. Muneer Al Maskery, the Founder and Executive Chairman of the Modern College of Business and Science; Dr. Abood Al Sawafi, Dean of the Modern College of Business and Science; Dr Anna Stakic, Associate Dean for Research, Postgraduate Studies and Professional Development of MCBS; Board members; faculty members; students and parents.

In his welcoming address, Dr Abood Al Sawafi congratulated the graduating students, "I stand here this evening for one of your greatest moments of glory - to celebrate your graduation. I cannot express enough how proud I am to share your happiness as the Head of this College.
“The journey to reach this stage of your life has started with the illustrious history of Modern College of Business Science in the last 22 years of its existence. I am sure you are also proud to be a graduate of quality higher education that is widely respected in the country. You will soon be part of our proud tradition representing the College to your chosen careers.”

Dr. Abood further said, “We also take great pride, not only in teaching you the latest trends in your specialties, but a high degree of morality and ethical values carefully designed to prepare for your future in the industry. You will soon come to realize that every lecture that was taught to you in the classroom was meticulously delivered to you in collaboration with our industry partners.  It has- and will always be - our quest to make sure we align all our teaching methods and practices with the latest industrial innovations. Our most coveted industrial partners from different sectors of the economy are here tonight to celebrate your achievement and I am sure some of them would proudly be your potential employers because they know they have contributed positively to our curriculum. Our march to take the College to the Top League as a world class institution is ongoing. It is a pledge we take very seriously.”
